During this time of year, most families are preparing to make Sugar Cookies complete with festive decorations for their holiday gatherings. Concentrating on what I might contribute to the holiday menu, I turned to our family cookbook. The pages before me contained a host of cookie, pie, cake and dessert recipes, but what caught my eye was a recipe by Grandma. Her recipe was born out of simpler times…times of humble means.
